Extended Access Service

Extended Access Service was previously offered and run by OurNET Health Services. This service ceased on 30th September 2022.

From 1st October, we are now offering an Extended Access Service through Walsall PCN. Additional appointments have been created to better manage patient demands and you may be offered these appointments from time to time. These appointments will be held at Little London Surgery and Forrester Street Surgery.

When can I get an out-of-hours appointment?

Extra GP, HCA and Practice Nurse appointments will be available between 6.30pm to 8.00pm on weekdays and 9.00am to 5.00pm on Saturdays.

  • Monday: Forrester Street Surgery, Forrester Street, Walsall, WS2 9PL
  • Tuesday: Little London Surgery, Caldmore, WS1 3EP
  • Wednesday: Little London Surgery, Caldmore, WS1 3EP
  • Thursday: Forrester Street Surgery, Forrester Street, Walsall, WS2 9PL
  • Friday: Little London Surgery, Caldmore, WS1 3EP
  • Saturday: Little London Surgery, Caldmore, WS1 3EP

Please note: This is not a walk-in service. Patients will not be seen without a pre-booked appointment. These appointments are booked by GP Practice Staff.

What if I’m not registered with a Walsall GP?

If you are not a registered patient at a Walsall GP, you will not be able to access these out-of-hours appointments. More information about these services can be found on Walsall CCG’s website: www.walsallccg.nhs.uk.

When should I use the Hubs?

The extended service is for patients who require a routine or same day GP appointment, but are unable to attend during normal opening hours. However, they are not walk-in centres and you will need to book an appointment- these can be booked up to 7 days in advance. Please note that both of Walsall’s urgent care centres and its A&E department will still be open as normal for people to use in serious or life threatening emergencies.

Out of hours

If you think you need to speak to someone and it cannot wait until the surgery is next open, the Out of hours service can be reached on 111, or contact surgery and press option 1, which will redirect you.

Please do not wait until Monday morning for urgent treatment – please contact primecare out of hours.

This service is G.P. supported, and is available from Monday to Thursday 6.30pm to 8.00am; and Friday from 1.00pm onwards, all day Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays.

If you need some general health advice or information, you can phone NHS urgent care centre on 111 – these calls are free.

If you think your condition is life-threatening or very serious, please dial 999.
